Reduce anxiety, stress, chronic pain and negative moods with the help of mindful awareness and compassion. The ‘Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction’ program merges mindful awareness training and gentle yoga exercises. PNMT for the Cervical Spine

Sept 21 and 22, 2019, (16 CEs)

Neck pain accounts for a large percentage of visits to massage therapy offices. While more general massage approaches to the neck can be very relaxing, PNMT focuses on more specific problem-solving. When a client comes to your office with specific complaints, PNMT will help you consider all the possible musculoskeletal explanations that would explain his/her discomfort. Great problem-solving skills and a deep knowledge of functional anatomy are the the keys to success.

Here is one example: Your client presents with pain in the left side of her neck. Her rotation to the left is restricted, just 40 degrees of rotation in comparison to right rotation, which is 65 degrees. When she turns to the left, she feels pain on the left side of her neck. When you take her into cervical extension during left rotation, her pain is worse. Moving her into cervical flexion during left rotation lessens her pain. “Got it”, you think to yourself. “Now I know why stretching made it worse, not better.” These kind of presentations are what clinical massage therapists face every day. In Precision Neuromuscular Therapy, we help you problem solve through real-life situations, helping you to make great decisions while showing you a host of great treatment techniques to accomplish the task.

PNMT Form and Function: Integrating Structural and Functional Assessment

(16 CEs), Fall 2020

PNMT Form and Function is about clinical decision making, helping therapists increase effectiveness by treating the right muscle for the right reason. The wisdom (and the art) is in the choosing. Structural assessment is important, but must be done with speed and accuracy.  Moreover, how can you know that the structural asymmetry is related to the client's presenting symptom? By integrating functional assessment as well, this seminar can help you design treatment protocols that create measurable and immediate improvements for the client.

Perhaps nothing says more about Form and Function than feedback from a participant in a seminar in Green Bay, WI:

“As practicing LMTs, I believe it is essential to maintain and deepen our knowledge of anatomy and physiology, but even more critical for us to put that knowledge into action. The PNMT Form and Function course challenged me to do just that and inspired me to continue to refine my skills in the Precision Neuromuscular therapeutic approach.”
