YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Group Meditation $5 Community Class
The benefits of meditation have been known for thousands of years and is proven by modern science. Meditation is good for our health; physical, emotional and spiritual. This class is an introduction to seated meditation. It is a mixture of guided and unguided meditation, seated and reclined postures. Suitable for all levels, beginners are welcome.
Restorative yoga works in place of a spa, a deep tissue massage, a silent psychotherapy and a soul retreat. Warmth, candle light and brainwave music will let your body and mind reset and renew, while all you do is rest. If you ever heard that one needs to be flexible to do yoga, or one needs to be strong to do yoga, it’s a good time to give it a break. Yoga is for everyone! You will know it in a restorative session where the benefits will linger and melt into your daily life.
This is an accessible entry-level practice, yet it is also an excellent complement to an active yoga practice. Yin yoga targets deep connective tissue, focusing primarily on the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Although not complicated, it can be quite challenging due in part to the longer duration of the holds. This style of yoga increases flexibility of not only the physical body, but also of the mind, by encouraging deep introspection, contemplation, and a relaxed awareness.
Gentle Yoga & Deep Relaxation
Combing the best of gentle yoga with deep relaxation techniques. This class is designed for those with injuries, stress, or beginners wanting to ease into the practice of Yoga. This class involves long and extended yoga nidra or guided meditation at the end.
Vinyasa Flow Basics
An intro class to Vinyasa Yoga. A great way to start with vinyasa and different flow classes. For beginners or even advanced practitioners that want to take their practice to a more detailed level. We will be covering a lot of alignment issues that are specific to vinyasa type classes and explanations for why certain poses are practiced in the orders we do them. Basic pranayama (breath control practices) are also introduced.
Mixed-Level Vinyasa Flow
Build strength and fluidity in this moderately paced vinyasa flow class. Equal emphasis will be placed on breath and alignment. This class is a wonderful way to incorporate movement and insert vitality into your workday. All levels welcome!
Hatha for Beginners
Ease in to your afternoon with this gently paced yoga class. We will take the time to connect with our breath and to learn about alignment as we explore each pose.
This class is taught by Margo Sorum, who created the Spinal Floss TM sequence. Come ready to learn about anatomy, your posture, alignment, and ways to strengthen and heal your back!
Yoga asana and pranayama practice for those who are looking for gentle practice. This class is designed for those with injuries, stress or beginners wanting to ease into the practice of Yoga. Classes will be anatomy based; stressing posture and finding core strength. The term gentle means finding your yoga poses with ease and does not necessarily mean easy. Each student will be asked to find individual ease in poses (called asana) then access core strength.
Gentle Yoga Plus
Gentle Yoga Plus is a your gentle yoga practice PLUS options to move into more complex postures.
Gentle Yoga Basics
This class is designed to introduce foundational yoga concepts for those with injuries, stress or beginners wanting to ease into the practice of Yoga. Classes will be anatomy based; stressing posture and finding core strength. The term gentle means finding your yoga poses with ease and does not necessarily mean easy. Each student will be asked to find individual ease in poses (called asana) then access core strength.
Sivananda Hatha $5 Community Class
This is Sivananda Hatha sequenced class modified to be accessible to beginning through advanced yogis. This class incorporates gentle core building in with all the postures as well as restorative postures at the end of the class.
Mixed Level Iyengar Style Yoga
Alignment is taught in this Hatha style class. Prepare to dig into the alignment of yoga postures with lots of adjustments for you body. The beginning and advanced yogi both will benefit from this class by learning about incorporating props to improve one's alignment and posture.
Mixed-Level Hatha Yoga
Expect a moderately paced class focused on breath and alignment. An equal amount of emphasis will be placed on relaxing as well strength building, sometimes in the same postures. Beginners and advanced practitioners are welcomed.
Yoga Tune Up®

It is a way of working with the body using integrated embodied anatomy, breaking down the nuts of bolts of human movement with anatomical awareness, conscious relaxation, and proper breathing techniques. Bring your self into an intimate understanding of your native architecture with this challenging yet accessible practice that incorporates movements from classic yoga, calisthenics, and body therapy.
