A professional program for aspiring yoga teachers wishing to delve deeply into integrated anatomy and body mechanics while discovering an innovative approach to the practice of yoga. This training goes beyond formulaic instruction and teaches teachers to learn,  practice and teach creatively with the current models of movement science. Provided with context-based teaching strategies for teaching in a plethora of settings, participants will graduate with the skillset to make yoga accessible to populations that normally wouldn’t have access to the therapeutic practice of yoga. Students will foster a relationship with yoga that is personal and meaningful by becoming a student of their own body first. Guided towards being sensitive, skillful, ethical, and well-rounded students of their students, participants will emerge with skills to craft classes that encourage connection, cultivate embodied awareness, and integrate movements that will benefit students to live better and more fully in their lives. Students will learn to integrate their insights, knowledge, and technical skills into the application of teaching private sessions, group classes, and leading workshops. Participants will also receive guidance in both personal and professional endeavors by creating five classes of their own, a teacher bio, and become versed in the ethical application of being an independent contractor and good business practices.

This program follows the guidelines established by The Yoga Alliance for yoga teacher training programs. It will provide a solid foundation upon which participants may continue to build and develop their professional skills. Instructors will provide encouragement, information, feedback and space for students to develop competence. Students will be asked to commit to home practice and to collaborate with other yoga practitioners by participating in group teaching sessions. Individual consultation and supervision will be available to support personal and professional development as needed. Upon completion, students will receive certification which will allow them to register with the Yoga Alliance as RYT, Registered Yoga Teacher.
